2015 is the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta. St Briavels Castle belonged to King John – he even built himself a new wing when hunting in the Forest of Dean. You can feast like a king, enjoy craft sessions, tour the castle, sharpen your archery.
Try Caving Events at Clearwell Caves
A mined natural cave system covering an area of 600 acres. Visitors to the lower levels can descend to 65 metres and see interesting mining and natural features. Trips include simple crawling and climbing.

Explore a mile of meandering pathways with its fantastic tree and rock formations, through this 14 acre ancient woodland. JRR Tolkein is reputed to have taken his inspiration for the fabled forests of Middle Earth from Puzzlewood.
All aboard at Perrygrove Railway!
Ride along on these old steam trains around a track through farmland and woodland. There is a tree house and indoor village; there’s also a Treasure Hunt, where you receive a key and a map of clues leading to a prize.
